exporting DISPLAY problems 1

Hello,
I am on a novell Suse desktop system.
At the command line I type: xhost +
and I am told everything is fine. I then ssh to a HPUX machine and export the display:

#> export DISPLAY=<ip of suse desktop>:0.0
I then test it by typing xclock on the command line

but I then alway get the message:

Error: Can't open display: :0.0
Error: Couldn't find per display information

I think I have tried everything is there a way to successfully export my display???

try:

ssh -X user@host

the -X will export you automatically the display env.
