Hi,

I want to export some data to an Excel File.
I've two problems:
- the data is always different (the user creates a select query)
- the time to export is also always different

Is there a way that I can overcome this problem.

I've tried to make a DTS package but the data is always the same and I don't know how I can launch the job.

Thx

How does the user create the Select query?

Why not use SQL at all and instead create a System DSN and use Microsoft Query in conjuction with Excel and connect to the SQL server through the DSN?

There are several ways you can launch a DTS package manually using ActiveX scripts, stored procedures, or in a web environment via VBS. Search the Tek-tips FAQ's for explanations on this and use for great reference material
