Hello,

I have a situation where I have cubes sitting on the Powerplay Enterprise Server (Unix) and users connect remotely. I was wondering has anyone come on the situation where it is possible to export data to a file from the cubes. I want to be able to export the data without having to connect to the cubes or run powerplay. The file will sit on unix.

Has anyone worked with Cognos Scripting Language, but does this only work on windows?

Any ideas/help would be greatly appreciated

If you are asking about PPWeb, when a cube is open on the remote hook up, you can save to .xls, .csv. and once you have that, you can do whatever you want with it. When you say the file will sit on UNIX, is it that you want the results of the data from the web cube on unix? Not too sure of your question...

Hello CP,
The cubes are connected to remotely in a LAN. They sit on the Enterprise Server (Unix) and users connect remotely to view the cubes. We dont offer the facility of viewing the cubes over the web.

What I want is to download certain dimensions and facts to a file (preferably done on Unix)and to unload sql queries from the database to a file also. I will then run a unix script to see if both files are equal. If the files are equal the cubes are correct. I want to provide this testing feature in an automated way - run a script and the data is downloaded from the cube, run another script the data is downloaded from the database and finally a third script to check the two files for errors.

Thanks
Canhe
