Hi

I am trying to export data from a table or query in Access into an Excel spreadsheet. I am currently doing this by opening the workbook, deleting the existing worksheet, saving and closing the file before exporting the updated table again using the same filename. Can anybody offer a more efficient way of doing this as I am dealing with a large amount of data.

Thanks

Jackie

can you not just delete the file directly, and then export the updated table again?

I think the command you're looking for is KILL (doesn't that command have a satisfying ring to it... :))

You may also consider PULL the data from Excel with QueryTable:
When in Excel, menu Data -> External data -> ...
They are option that will update the datas automagically when you open the workbook.

Hope This Helps, PH.

No, the file has pivot tables running off an export.
