hello friends
when i export .rpt into text file, then it willgive me text file, but page header & footer & format is not appear as in .rpt file.
pls help me.

i want to export .rpt into text & then print fast on dot matrix.

Isn't printing fast on a dot matrix an oxymoron?

The speed problem is font related I think. Perhaps if you design the report with the dot matrix printer, and select a font native to the printer, you'll see the performance you seek.

Or...I haven't tested this, but you should be able to include a details band (A) which houses the header info, then a details band (B) with your data, then a details band (C) for the footer, and conditionally suppress these sections based on the recordnumber or onlastrecord.

If you have groups, just make sure your header and footer test flanks the other data, and again, conditionally suppress then based on the record number.

-k

Then you should be able to output to a text file. kai@informeddatadecisions.com

Synapsevampire is right, I had this same problem several years ago and you have to choose a native font for the printer (i.e. courier).

The limits on Crystal's exporting capablities vary depending on the output format. Obviously, you can't add graphical boxes to a .txt file, but you also can't have pin-point control over field sizes and vertical distances between fields.

Search for cr85_exportlimitations.zip in for a handy spreadsheet showing the different CRW features supported by the different export formats.
