exporting blog posts to XML but how to read?!

ok, newbie here but I want to close a blog but I want to export the posts first. The only option over on Wordpress is to export to XML, which I've done. However, there's no good way to read the posts other than to reimport them back into Wordpress (or some other blog, I presume).

Is there something else I can import the XML file into to be able to read the posts?
