exporting artboard problem, white area cut out 1

Hi, i was trying to export my file in Illustrator and I have some completely white areas on the side which is intended. after i export it as jpeg, the white area got cut out automatically by illustrator. is there a way to "tell" illustrator to export exactly what's on the artboard only and nothing else? Thanks a lot!

Try drawing a box - no fill or outline - around the white area you wish to keep.
