A Happy New Year to all you guys!

I have this problem:

I have a movie (a banner) and i would like to export it as an animated gif. I have read many posts regarding this problem...but with all the publish settings combinations i've tried i've ended up with a bad looking animated gif(frame rate decreased, bad looking gradients, pixelated looking, etc).

All my animations are on the main timeline( no movies...only motion tweens), i'm using Flash MX 2004 Professional.

In a post from 2 years ago :) oldnewbie said something about using another program(Gif Construction Set) and convert the .avi file exported from Flash into an animated gif...but it ends up with a bad looking animated gif also...
and the frame rate seems to be decreased.

Please advise.

Regards,
Dragos.

Nobody? :-(

Didn't any of you worked with animated gifs?

I will e-mail it to you oldnewbie...i am changing my host and i don't have available space.

Please try it out on the file i've just mailed you. If i can't obtain the same smoothness and quality as the swf i will have to do it with another program...what is your advice?...suggestion

Dragos.

Nope! Sorry this is the best I can make of it...

Mind you, why an animated .gif, in the first place? It's 13 times as heavier then the original .swf.
And since tweens and gradients are the most processor intensive bits, it's seems the cumulation of such tweens and gradients slows down the .gif even more as it plays. It's not that bad at the beginning, but slows down as it goes...
Furthermore that globe will never spin, it's in a movie clip.

I guess your right o.n. with this structure i can't make it an animated gif...it's too sophisticated :) ... i will have to make it more simple ...

So as experience...only simple flash movies are exported, with the same quality, as animated gifs ... not as full as tweens and gradients like mine?

Thanx a lot!

Regards,
Dragos.
