Hi,

Still getting to grips with illustrator, and produced some rather funky flyers for a band, i can print out ok from my pc in .ai format..but i need to email a copy to someone so they can print a batch out at home, allthough they don't have illustrator - and the size never seems to be right.

How do i produce a copy of my artwork that anybody can open and print out dimesionally perfect as produced in .ai ?.

Do i use the export option to save as jpeg ? i tried this and the artwork went all screwed up - much bigger..im assuming there must be some export dimesions somewhere i am not setting right ?

Cheers

Hi,

I would suggest two things.
See if your customers have acrobat reader installed. If so, then save as PDF and send them the pdf.
If they don't have Acrobat reader, a possibility is to save the AI file as an eps. Go to photoshop open the eps and save as tiff or jpeg. With jpeg you will have some loss of quality, DPF is the best way to go.
hope this helps

Thanks Everyone,

Went for the PDF option and tested it out, everything is perfect!

Think i may read on on eps format because i know nothing at all about it..
