Hello,

Our company just got a new client whose previous accountant has AccPac Plus. He says there is no way to export the data. Is there way to export data into an excel file or another type of file that we would be able to use to upload into QuickBooks? We need the following information: Vendor List, Chart of Accounts, Full Class List, and General Ledger. Is this possible? If so, how is the export performed?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Look in the Housekeeping menu, there are exports to CSV and other ancient formats like Lotus 1-2-3 (LOL). If you don't see what you want, print a report to a file, and use Data/Text to Columns.

Yes you can export, just not to Excel. Lotus and CSV is available, both can be opened in Excel.
Look under AP Vendors for Export/Import... it should be pretty obvious on the menu and the same with GL Accounts.
I assume by General Ledger you mean the GL Transactions Listing? Sorry no export available... but you can print to file (F3, Print, Print Destination and select File) and then hack it in Excel or your most favorite text editor.
Back in the day there were some Excel utilities available (F9) but those will be hard to find now. Or the old Crystal Reports would let you export data.
Another option is Adagio - it is a Windows based program that uses the same Accpac Plus data files. You will be able to go to town with Excel on the Adagio data.
I dunno what the heck a Full Class List is... enlighten me.

Thank you both so much. I truly appreciate the assistance. The previous accountant is retiring and isn't being helpful with the transition. I haven't seen Acc Pacc Plus so I am flying blind here. I am trying to get the step by step directions for exporting the above mentioned data so that our Controller can perform the exports when he makes a site visit to the accountant. Screenshots would probably be helpful too. Do you know where I can find any of that information or any support to help us through this process? Hiring the support may be an option if needed.

Ettienne, Full Class List is a list of categories, locations, etc. Different software uses different terms for it. [smile]

Once again, thank you so much for your assistance. I hope to hear more from you.

Press F1 for help. Accpac Plus is such a simple piece of software that anyone can figure out where the export is, there are only a limited number of menu choices.
