hello, is it possible to create tables in sql server directly from tables in access? Some sort of import?

Sure, just right click on some database name in SSMS Object Explorer and choose "Tasks->Import data".

Sorry where is that, just installed it? server 08

also what about each table structure, i,d hate to reinvent the wheel on 30 or so tables

Did you right click on your database, Tasks, Import Data and then followed the wizard?
