Can anyone tell me how I can export a graph from Access 97, in an editable format, into either Excel 97 or Word 97.

AT least as of Ms. Access '97 this is not part of the Ms. Package. There are some third party tools which grab the form/report in PDF (or other) format.

The only way I have been able to do this is to set up an Excel workbook with the graph in the workbook and transfer the data to a named range in the workbook.

This works well, except when/where some "dumb" user alters the workbook, so I usually protect myself by having two copies of the workbook and transfering the information to both every time. This provides the necessary backup/recovery and answers any questions which arise from the "dumb" user's changes.
