Hi Folks. I wonder whether anyone can throw any light on a problem I'm experiencing with Access 2000. I've recently upgraded a database I designed in Access 2.0 and all seems to have gone OK with the exception that an export specification (to a text file) I had in the old db doesn't now work because 'The number of fields in your export specification doesn't match the number of fields in the table to be exported.' (or similar).

The fact is I don't want to export all of the fields, just a subset excluding some dummy/informational fields. Does anyone have a workaround for this, or am I missing some flag or other to indicate whether tables can be exported excluding some fields. Thanks in anticipation.

I can't remember what happened in v2 but these days you would create a query containing the fields you want to export and export that.

Thanks Lupins, that's a reasonable solution. Have a star.
