I am here under false pretences as I am just an end user, but someone may be able to point me in the right direction.

I have created a PDF from my MAC using PREVIEW, a 20 page A5 magazine booklet, which prints perfectly on my Pimxa printer, but when I send/export it to the commercial printers they have problems with margins and sizing when they import my PDF into Indesign (latest version I am told.)

Would PDF2ID file conversion tool for Adobe® InDesign® help them or can I do something else.

Preview is the program that converts/prints the PDF. What program did you use to design/create the magazine?

It is unlikely that a print provider ever needs you to impose the booklet for them. They probably prefer a single page layout in the PDF file so that they can impose it themselves, using their own value for creep. Issues with margins might also occur if you did not design the document for bleed.

The original document was created in Word for Mac. I want to have control over the design of the mag, so the printer suggested I do it this way.(Presumably to make it easier for them !) He has said that PDF's do give him problems, depending on the origins.I am not tech enough to understand how I can help him from my end. Thank you for the input.

...it would help greatly if you can provide a download link to the PDF in question...using sendspace.com will allow you to generate a download link to paste back into this site...

Thank you for the suggestion. Does experience tell you that the re-sizing of the PDF when InDesign uses it may be caused during email transmission ?
