This is a great site!!! Thank you to all you experts who post here! Such a valuable resource!!!

Is there a way to export a Crystal Report to a PDF document that allows the end user to update certain fields in the PDF document....much like you see with US Tax forms. Also, if that is possible, is it also possible to then be able to restrict their ability to update the other fields on the pdf document.

If this is a Crystal feature, I assume a more advanced version of ADODBE would be required, correct? If this isn't a Crystal feature, has anyone created and ADD-ON to Crystal that works with ADOBE for this purpose that is available for purchase? If their are no add-ons out there, any suggestions regarding alternative solutions will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Jim C

Yes, at least one of the 3rd-party Report Managers listed at provides that functionality.

It would either fill pdf template files with form fields or generate a pdf file with form fields based on Crystal formulas. The resulting pdf file can be emailed to different recipients depending on email address information inside the report.

The recipient can use the free pdf Xchange viewer to fill the form fields, save, and send it back.
