I run a query containing a blob field for descriptive notes that I then need to export. The answer table depicts the short fieldview of the blob and will show the entire field when you click on it. I know the data is maintained in a seperate memo table but how do I keep it in my export?
The field is blank in the spreadsheet. Thanks...

dkivel,

Unfortunately, there's no direct way to export the blob data to a spreadsheet, primarily because blobs are a general container for a variety of data types, some of which don't make a lot of sense to export, such as OLE references, graphics, and so on.

However, if you're using a blob type that can be converted to exportable data, such as a memo (or formatted memo) that can be converted to 255 characters, then you might be able to use the trick at to get what you're after.

Mind you, this creates an ASCII delimited file, but you can import those into most spreadsheet programs.

Hope this helps...
