I am having problems with old pages that have been saved in version 6.5. It gives a memory dump error after it writes the PS file and tries to create the PDF. I have broke it down to the cause being possibly Old Adobe Tables. I had one bomb out, so I deleted the adobe tables on the page and it exported fine that time... Any ideas? Thanks.

matt,

I assume that you are on a new system, with a PM7.0 and possibly new OS?

Your problem more than likely, as you have guessed, is witht he tables. Adobe tables are OLE, meaning that when you place them in your doc, they are not in your doc, only a link exists. Now you open the doc on a new system with a different file structure.. the PM doc shows the table with what is in effect a display only image of where they table was placed.. the table is not really there.. so you try to export to PDF, it looks for the table where the doc says it used to be but it is not there.. you may have long since deleted it or it may be in a different directory under a different path... and then you have the error.

To eliminate this, you would have to duplicate all file and directory names exactly as it was under the old vs. of PM and on the old system if that is indeed the case.

As you may have guessed, PM does not play well with OLE or tables. When in doubt, deny all terms and defnitions.
