Export to PDF taking forever

I run my report VIA CMC (CE10) and once the report is displayed, I click on the Export button and it just takes too long for the Save As box to appear. The report consists of 19 pages... Is this something related to the page server?

Any suggestions..
 
As with most people, I rarely run reports from the CMC, so I don't have too much history there, but I just tried it in CR XI with a 38 page report and it was almost instantaneous to pop the Save As (after selecting Adobe as the export type).

Perhaps the report has not completed receiving data in your instance, and is simply showing the first page. Try hitting the last page arrow first next time.

Also curious why you use the CMC instead of ePortfolio?

Yes, we hit the Go to last page button the report viewer just hangs...
 
Then the report hasn't finished, it has nothign to do with exporting, it's possibly a HUGE report or a bad design.

Or it could have something to do with the servers.

We can't tell you this unless you share some technical information.

Does it run to completion in Crystal Reports (hitting the go to last page in there as well)? Again, why are you using the CMC?

How large of a report are you expecting?

One of the primary reasons for slow report execution is that the record selection formula isn't being passed to the database.

We know nothing at this stage except that it hangs (which could mean that it's running still) and that you're using CR 10.

We do not have Crystal Reports designer on that server invloved. In order to test the report we can only use the CE10 (CMC)...

You are probably right when saying "bad design"...

It doesn't matetr where Crystal Reports is, how long does it take to COMPLETE from within Crystal Reports?
