I have created a large document (490 pages) containing our company catalog and links to part specification sheets - all contained within the document. I am now trying to export it to PDF, but it stops at "Creating Acrobat lists", and shuts down with the dreaded red "X". Any ideas or suggestions??

Hi

I don't have a lot of experience with these kind of larger files, but it could be the amount of disk space or memory used isn't enough.
I would suggest you divide your orignal document in some smaller parts, print your files to disk as a Postcript file. Distill them with Acrobat distiller using the settings that are specific for your document.
the open the first part of your document in Acrobat, go to the last page and insert the second part and so on.
You can only do this if you have a full acrobat programm. The downloadable readers don't have the option of inserting pages in a pdf file.

Hope this helps
