Export to PDF and Word fails in Crystal 8.5 ActiveX viewer

We are using the COM (RDC) interface to activate the Crystal ActiveX viewer for Crystal 8.5 through ASP. The viewer comes up fine in the browser but when we attempt to export to either Word, RTF or PDF formats using the Export button on the viewer, we get the following error:

CRAXDRT error ocurred on server. -2147190548: Missing or out of date export DLL.

We are able to export to Excel and .rpt formats without a problem, it is only Word, RTF and PDF that are giving this error. We have made sure that the appropriate dlls are located in %systemroot%\Crystal and the right access rights are set. The strange thing is that we can export to Word and PDF by directly using the rptserver.asp but it fails when trying to use the Export button on the ActiveX viewer.

Any thoughts or ideas would be much appreciated

Try putting the dlls in the Windows\System32 folder

Thanks. Have already seen that article. We even tried using the adminstrator as the anonymous account and it still did not work.

I think this is a bug in 8.5 but unfortunately, BO does not support that version any longer. We may have no choice but to go to v9 or later (where the same export process works).
