Can anyone help?
We have had ePO installed for a few months now, and apart from a few teething problems, and a lack of being able to download updates without creating a separate ftp script, it seems to be working great.
However, the server we placed it on is getting out of date. We have just isolated a new machine, and would like to export ePO to the new server, as it took well over a week to add all the machines from the network.
Anyone know how to do this?

All you need to do is setup the new server with the same server name and IP address and let the ePO agents to populate the new servers automatically. You will need to get the old server offline first. If you have the database (MSDE) on the old server, there's a procedure on how to backup and restore this to a new database in NAI's Knowledge Center.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

Thanks for your advice! It may have saved me some time, but I have a new problem, that may be related.
I have installed ePO on the new server, and backed up and restored the MSDE database, and all the information from the other network (which uses the saem IPs). This was fine. I even managed to send an install of the Agent to the current ePO server, our new Domain Server, and three new test workstations. However, when I clicked to force install the VS, and NS software (wrkstn, and srvr respectively), this doesn't work... However, there are no messages on the Server Event views. Please, can anyone help?

You'll need to re-enable the software deployment on these products. These were not migrated over from the old server.

Hope this helps.

I tried this... at least I think so. Do I simply need to copy the .pkg files from the old server to the new? I will try this. If you can point me to, or type, some steps, I would be most appreciative.

Right... I found the correct .pkg files, and didn't have to copy them accross after all! I guess I simply forgot I had done this on the old server when I initially installed that, five months ago.
