All,

I have about 20 columns in my report . When export to excel it displays 12 columns in one one row but other 8 columns are in row 2.

What could be causing this?

I have all 19 columns in gp_1 and 1 column in gp_2. gp_1 has underlay following sections checked in.

One column that is in gp_2 is about 7th column.

Pls suggest

Can you explain why you have it set up like this? Does the Group #2 column have multiple values?

-LB

GP 2 displays a column for sum from 2 sub reports. It is singlw value.
(My previous post on how to add data from subreports and display in main report)

All other fields inlcuding 2 subreports are in GP_1

Also I noticed that the gp_2 value not only displays where it should be but also displays at a place where data in one row ends and 2nd row starts. Its like

GP1 column1 column2 column3 Column2
GP2 Column4 Column5 Column6 Column7

Ideally All column1 to Column7 should display in one row

Thanks

You described a situation where there were two groups, but if you were using subreports in a Group #1 header, the sum of shared variables should appear in GH1b, NOT in GH2. Please clarify.

What fields are you grouping on? Is there only one instance of Group #2 per Group #1?

Sorry my subreport is in gp footer 1a and Sum is in GP footer 1b.

There is no GP footer 2

ARe you displaying the contents of the subreports directly in GH1a except for the sum? Or are you only using the subreports to calculate the sum in GH2b?

I just tested this, and it worked. You need to attach all fields AND the subreports to guidelines, both vertical and horizontal. Remove the borders from the subs first and then format all objects in the section to be the same height, align the bottoms, and then move them to the top of the section and minimize the height of the section by dragging the bottom up. To attach a sub to guidelines, use the same method as for a field, but the corners will not turn red--you need to test by moving the guideline to see if you have successfully attached the sub. You should make sure both GH1a and GH1b are the same height, too.

Thanks LB,

I made all objects the same size and work around the guidelines and also there were some fields in sub report , which were placed in the details sections but I did not want to show them. Removing these fields and making the fields the same size, checking guidelines worked.

Thanks
