I have a report with a details section, and 1 subreport.

Every section in the report except the subreport is suppressed.
But when the report is exported, i always get a blank row.(row 1),
and my data starts on row 2

I am exporting to Microsoft Excel(97-2003) Data-only.

I have tried many combinations, but always get the blank row.
Data needs to be in Excel format.

I'm using Cr11

Any ideas ?

Check the sub-report to ensure that the unused sections are suppressed. Also, in the section that is being exported, all fields need to be aligned at the very top of the section, all the same height, and with the section size reduced so there is no space below the fields.

Hope this helps

Cheers
Pete

For what its worth, I absolutely detest almost any report exported to Excel. Why would you impose such pain and suffering on poor spreadsheet users. Just put it out in PDF!

If you need to export to Excel, then export a proper table!. I export ALL my "reports" as .csv (unformatted) DATA. I can IMPORT into an Excel workbook, control the IMPORT for each column (an absolutely essential step to prevent Excel from CHANGING certain data unexpectedly) yeilding a proper table that can be fully analyzed using the plethora of Excel features for data analysis & reporting. Why else open in Excel?
