My report (Crystal 11.5) shows data in the group footer, but uses variables to accumulate one particular value in the detail lines. (It finds the last occasion when an account type changed, for accounts where it may change several times or not at all, so I could see no way to do it without variables.)
I was already aware that CSV export would include conditionally suppressed sections. In this case, the detail line was suppressed in all cases, but the CSV repeated the group header information once per detail line.
I tried all of the variants, including the 'legacy' option that you are told off for using. "Legacy" avoided the problem but also failed to separate the lines when I viewed it on text, also I cannot use a solution that is likely to fail for the next version of Crystal.
I can get round the problem by exporting as text instead - though this has problems, I've done a separate thread on that. But does anyone have any other suggestions? Please let me know.
