export tapes 1

I am doing this for the first time.....after a little training last week....
I am running Veritas BE 9 with a Dell Powervault 122t; I am trying to export the tapes but I get the message :"Door Locked!" . I export, select slot 1 and hit enter.
Can anyone please help me with this ? Thank you.

Your powervault has the security feature enabled. In backup exec right click on the library - Probably called Dell 1 in the Devices tab and click unlock. Then you should be able to manually remove the tape from the front panel. If you dont like this feature contact dell and see if they can turn it off in the firmware. Otherwite in Backup Exec you can right click on a slot and export a tape as well
