Export table to spreadsheet

Hi all,
I'm viewing a sql table in a sharepoint Document,
i do this using some web service, (i coul'd also have done that using a data view, insert data base connection)
my problem is that either way i don't know how to convert this data into excel, while using sharepoint's lists enables me to "Export to spreadsheet" and easily doing that,

If the results are in an HTML table, you should be able to cut and paste right into Excel and get a decent spreadsheet out of it. Or are you trying to do this programmatically/automatically?

I'm trying to do this automatically, just like the option
i get when i'm using a sharepoint list: "Export to spreadsheet", if its can be done programmatically, i dont really know how

How are you contacting the Web service? Through a custom Web part? You should be able to code the Excel creation in the web part code-behind.
