Is it possible to export rules in outlook express, rather than have to retype them in when you delete a user profile.

Nick

Your rules are in the registry. You can back them up by exporting the key

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Identities\{xxx}\Software\Microsoft\Outlook Express\5.0\Rules]

xxx equals your assigned 32 digit identitity number in the registry.

If you create a new profile you can import the key to the new profile but you will have to edit the .reg file (in Notepad) first by changing the your 32 digit identity key to match your new one for the new profile.

I don't think Microsoft would ever tell anyone to do this but if your savvy enough (and desperate enough) this should work. joegz
