export report to tiff or jpg image

Dear All

How can i export vfp6 report to tiff or jpg format. Also can is it possible to attach the same with email from vfp6 using outlook2000 object.

You'll need a third party product to give you this capability in VFP 6.0, but TIFF output (single and multiple page documents) is native in VFP 9.0.

I also use XFRX, and found it works really good with VFP Reports and as Rick has said VFP 9 has the Tiff file format covered these days.

Another option is to go online and search Google (or whatever your preferred search engine is) for a Tiff printer driver. There are some pretty decent ones out there and you maybe able to even find one or two for free that will allow you to print your VFP 6 report as a tiff file directly. Basically you install the print driver on your machine and then when printing the report to that printer your users will be prompted for a file name and location where it should generate the tiff image at.

Another free option is to print the report to a postcript file through a postscript printer driver and output the postscript file to a tiff through Ghostscript.

Dear Craig

Thanks for valuable suggestion, but i have tried this, it works fine as u mention, but now another issue arrises, operator on worksation want to autimatically attach that (tiff printed report) with the email generated from the vfp system, how it works?.

A reasonably priced product that I have used for this same task is the Zan Image Printer

It works as a printer driver and I merely have my application set this driver to be my workstation default printer and then print out my FRX with standard
REPORT FORM <whatever> NOCONSOLE TO PRINTER

After printing my application returns the workstation default printer to its original setting.

This approach and product has worked very well for one of my clients.

I have downloaded frx2any trial, and will check, on what extent it can help me. But I would like to develop some code rather than use third party dependency tools.

Also It has to be evaluated what will be the cost and effort to swith on vfp9.
