I have a DTS Package using SQl 2000 that I want to export and then import it to another SQl 2000 server that is not in our domain. Basically, can I save the dts package as a file and then import it to the new server and see it through EM?

The kind folks at SQLDTS.com have a tool you can use for this:

There was a definitive thread on this a while back, I'll see if I can track it down.

Hope this helps,

Alex

Hi Klewis,

Yes. Open your package, click on save as then change the "location" box from SQL Server to Structured Storage file, then copy that file over and open it from the location on the other server you transferred it to.

To open the saved .dts file, in EM, right click on the DTS folder (yes, actually on the folder) and select open package, at which point you can browse to the location you saved it to.

HTH,

M.
