Hi,

I need to create a DTS package to import a text file to a table, then export the data from the table to a text file.

I had no problem to import a text file to a table. But when I added another transform task to do export I had problem for the tables that have more than 9 fields.

When I define the transform property, I hit the source tab to select a table,it was OK. Then I hit the Destination tab , entered the export file name and click OK. It pop out Define Columns window and show all columns based on the table selected. Then I hit the Execute buttom, in normoal case, it should show me all fields in the export file. But when the tables have more fileds, I got error message:
mmc.ext -Application Error
The instruction at "0x780014b1" referenced memory
at "0x00000000". The memory could not be "read"

Click on Ok to terminate the program
Click on CANCEL to debug the program

I have tried on my PC(MS SQL Server 2000-8.00.760; MS Personal on Windowns NT 5.2) and a Server(MS SQL Server 2000-8.00.760; MS Standard Edition On Windows NT 5.2). I got similar error message.
I tried on a laptop (MS SQL Server 200-8.00.194; MS Enterprise Edition on Windows NT 5.0). It works for any number of fields. At least up to 78 fields.

Is this a version issue or a memory size issue. Help please!

It is something related to the installation of sp3. Now I installed sp4 for database components. This problem goes away.
