I recently had a mail server crash (Exchange 2000). The original server (MAILORG) was replaced by a restore server (MAILRES). The AD was directed to the new server and all of the users were redirected to MAILRES. I have restored MAILORG to a temporary server (MAILTEMP).

Question: Is there any way to export all of the mailboxes and public stores from MAILTEMP with the MAILORG data restored to it to .PST files?

Notes: I have tried using ExMerge and the Exchange Migration Wizard. I am unable to connect to the server since these tools require that a restore be to a new server with the original name and IP address. I do not want to merge the old and new server, nor do I want to add it to the network. I just want to export the information on the old server to .PST files and use these files as archives for the users.

My choice of tools for this would be Power Controls from Ontrack . It will do what you want and so much more. Their demo versoin used to be very functional, but that was some time ago and I own a licenced copy now.

Not cheap, but well worth it.
