Database was converted from Access 97 to Access 2002.

Users preview a report in Access (looks great) and then click on “W” at top of menu (Publish it with Microsoft Word) and report is shown in Word as a .rtf document. The problem is the Word document does not look like the Access report. Data is wrapped to next line or just clipped off. The same thing happens if you try to export the report to Word as a .rtf file. It looks and prints great in Access. This happens to users with Office 2003 - the export works great for the users with Office 2002.

I guessing there’s an issue with .rtf files in 2003 – but I’ve been unable to discover what. Can someone help please?

It's something you just have to live with! RTF files are missing a lot of the nuances that an Access report has. For example, many lines and shading that print just fine with Access won't translate into an RTF document.

You might try to change the margins in your Word document if data is wrapping. Your Access report may have .25" margins while your Word document may be set to .50" margins.

Finally, make sure all of your data is lined up on each row of the report and of equal height (use Format | Align | Top and Format | Size | Tallest). Otherwise, the conversion to RFT often puts the data on separate lines in the RTF file.

Sorry I can't give you a "magic bullet" to fix your problems.

I have had this same problem and have been researching a solution for about the past month. I use to be able to export my reports to RTF with no problems. At some point in time I began to have the same problem as above. Any time i send a report to word or export as RTF, the data is all chopped up. I have been looking for dll's to reinstall but no luck yet. If anyone has any ideas it would be more than helpful.

I have already uninstalled and reinstalled, no help.
Using Access 97 and Word 97 on Windows XP Pro.

I have a similiar issue except my data all looks fine in MS Word, the problem is the paper size is changed to something unique (10.65 instead of 11). Then when I change the paper to the correct size everything gets out of whack.

I've played around with the margins, etc., but no luck. Anyone find a work around yet?

One more little bit...
The custom size it always changes to is
Width: 9.44"
Height: 12.22"

Even though in the access report it only goes to 6.5" on width and under page setup it's set as Letter.
