Export from Access To Excel problem

I have a database that I convert from Access97 to Access2000. When it was in 97 I would do an export of reports to excel and it would retain some formating with things like Summing for totals in the footers. Now in 2000 none of the formatting seems to be carrying over from the report to excel. How do I fix this?
