I have reloaded a SQL Server from Enterprise Edition down to Standard Edition. The DTS packages saved locally were not saved off the server prior to the reload, and therfore do not exist now in the new MSDB. I have a backup of the previous MSDB which has the packages. What is the best way to get them back on the server? Exporting the data from the sysdtspackages table from the old MSDB into the new one?

I'm a little hesitant about restoring the entire MSDB as I do not know what it may hold from being an Enterprise Edition system database.

Any help is greatly appreciated!
Kim

2 easy way, export the packages
1 - In dts package choose save as structured storeage file and then copy that file to your server and import.
2 - If the servers can see eachother save the dts package to new server

Thanks, but the DTS packages are no longer available due to the new installation of the Standard Edition (new and "empty" MSDB table).

Please considered this a resolved post. I ended up doing the following:

On a standby server:
Backed up existing MSDB
Restored MSDB that held the DTS packages
As you suggested, opened each DTS package and saved them to the newly reloaded server.
Restored the original MSDB for the standby server

Happy Holidays!
