I am using Crystal XI to Group information sent to me in an XLS file. The report results in RH, GH1, GH2, and Detail records. In the Crystal Report the GH1, GH2 and Detail data results may be either Stings or Numbers derived from formulas or directly from the original XLS file. These GH1, GH2, and Details are aligned in columns with Field Headings placed in the RH. The Field Headings, VAR1 - VAR23, ultimately become the column headers of the exported data into a new XLS file.
A second Crystal report which taps into the newly created XLS uses the Column headers of VAR1-VAR23 and I have placed them in the exact order from left to right in the Detail section of the new report.
Although I can see data in each and every cell in the new XLS some of the cells won't depict in the Detail section of the second Crystal report. I can't find a pattern. VAR1 column returns Numbers only not strings, VAR2 column only returns Stings. I tried to select all in the Second XLS and convert all fields to "General" however to luck...same results when Crystal pulls back the Details of VAR1 - VAR23.
Any ideas?
