This thread is related to thread149-1402780. I had a problem of exporting an Cross-tab report to excel and did not want the export to excel data only option (since I had some cells highlighted in different colors and wanted to retain the cell formatting). I found that if you right-click on the cross tab and choose Grid options then deselect "Show cell margins" it will remove the indents. Afterwards, it exports to Excel without creating empty columns (because of the indents).
I thought this might be handy since it took me a long, long time to figure this out and found some people were having the same problem but couldn't find this resolution posted here. This is for Crystal Reports XI.
