Hi!

I need to export a Crystal Report into multiple worksheets within a single Excel workbook based on the report's highest level grouping. Crystal's only published option is to do this manually by exporting each group to individual workbooks and combining them. That's not an acceptable solution.

I know there are programs out there that I can buy that will do this, but I'm doing this on my own and they're too expensive for me (over $40). However, if you know of a freeware or very inexpensive shareware solution that will do this, please let me know. But, please don't refer me to trial versions of expensive programs or to expensive, commercial programs.

Thanks. I know this question has been asked before about a year ago, but the only answer was to buy software. I'm hoping there's a better solution available now. For example, I could use VB.Net and the CR object if someone can point me to some sample code that does something like this.

Thanks!

I don't know of any freeware to do this, and to code it yourself is going to take considerable time.

I consider $40 to be quite a bargain. Can your company not afford $40?!?

has a product for $99.95 that's great for this type of thing.

It's a scripting language for windows programs.
Easy to learn.

Sorry that's over your price point, but it might not be over someone else's!

Just recently had to create about 7,000 csv files spread across 150 directories. Needed to convert them to xls files, set formats and fonts for portions of each file, and then convert them to pdf files. Winbatch made that easy.

It can also be used to script repetitive, predictable actions in CR.

Hi dgillz,

I hope you see this post! Could you please indicate which product at gainfocus was available for $40. I looked at Visual Cut, and it sells for $250 from the milletsoftware site. But $40 would be acceptable, if you could please tell me which package you were referring to.

Thanks!
Karen
