Export button on Crystal Viewer - Error troubleshooting

Hi,

I get to see my reports all right. But when I click on the "export button" on the Crystal Viewer, I specify the type to export it to, i.e., pdf.

I get the error message:

"Invalid Export Type Specified"

I tried exporting to Excel.

I get the error:

"CRAXDRT Error Occurred on Server - 2147190908: Failed to export the report."

For type - .doc, .rtf, export was successful.

---------------------------------------------------

For type .rpt, I suppose that users would not have Crystal Reports 8.5 installed on their machines. So it worked on my machine, but the users would not have this option.

Please suggest why I might be getting this errors.

Note: I have Acrobat Acrobat 6.0

Hi,
Did you install all the Export options when you setup your CR...
Where are you exporting to? Local disk, shared folder...


( By the way, you seem to post the same issue under different titles ( not this one, so far) - it will not get you faster responses and may, in fact, get you no replies at all)

I did not install this CR. I am exporting to my local drive where Acrobat Reader (for pdf files) are installed on my local machine.

However I have 2 versions of pdf (version 6.0 and version 7.0) where we have the license to write to a pdf file in version 6.0

Hi,
Unless the PDF export option is installed with CR, it may not work..( Which version of CR is it? Some 8.5 and 9 had issues with exporting and there may still be patches available - search this forum for EXPORT --)

Check with whoever installed your CR to see what options were included..


You do not need a license to export in PDF format.

I updated my ASP files from 8.0 to 8.5. Version 8.0 ASP files did not have the ability to export to PDF and Excel. Now with the update of the ASP files (SmartViewerActiveX.asp), I am able to export the report to pdf.

However I continue to get the error with exporting to Excel.

I looked into the KBase article c2010602 referring to 8.5

This article mentions that if a parameter is left blank, then this error exist. But I do set Param1, Param2 and then 'SetCurrentValue' to the Param1, Param2.

Anybody else who experienced errors with Exporting to Excel, please do give your input.
