All,

Does anyone know how to export to a text file, a column set to autonumber with padded 0's?

That is, I have column formatted to 8 positions (00000000), the column in the table says 00000698, but when I get the text file its 698 when I really need 00000698

Thanks

Export a formatted query instead of the table.

Hope This Helps, PH.

OK, I set the formatted query to 00000000, if this is correct I am getting 698 again.

For me, a formatted query is something like this:
SELECT Format([Autonum field], '00000000') As PaddedNum
FROM yourTable

Hope This Helps, PH.

I was trying that, and it seems to work in a tab-delimted export, but fixed field it drops the 0's.
