I may well have asked this question before ...

We have a number of machines that make use of a CRPreview component for the displaying of Crystal Reports within a compiled application (in this case Delphi). On some machines we are able to export the report to 'RichText Exact' format in order to e-mail the reports.
This only happens on those machines where we have Crystal Reports 8.5 installed. Those without (which only have the minimum required set of DLL's for database access) do not have this option for the export.

How can we achieve this without the need for an install of CR8.5 ? Is there a DLL associated with this export option that I can include in the list of DLL's to include for install.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Steve

When you compile and distribute the report usimg the crystal reports tool, there is a checkbox titled "include .dlls for exporting", which I believe woudl solve your problem were you not using Delphi. I do not know how to translate this to your Delphi application, however I have to believe this is available. Software Training and Support for Macola, Crystal Reports and Goldmine

We're not making use of the 'Report Distribution Expert'.
We simply run the executable (as compiled in Delphi) and point our CRPreview component to the '.rpt' files we have copied to the local machines. We ensure that each of these machines also has the required database access DLL's on (i.e. p2sodbc.dll + p2ssql.dll).
I know that the 'Report Distribuion Expert' produces an executable (??) but this is not what we are doing.

I'm hoping that there's a DLL (or DLL's) that we can include on the client machine (registering them as required) that gives us this 'RichText (Exact)' option in the list of drop-downs for 'Export As...'. We have 'RichText' but not 'RichText (Exact)' which seems to be the only way in which we can email the report to send to a customer (who would not have Crystal reports) in order for them to view it in the same format as we have set it out through design.

Any further help would be appreciated.
