I'm not sure what is causing the "Explorer View" in the document libraries to fail. Is there a service that this is attached to? I tried all the administrator accounts both on my DC (virtual machine 1) and the SharePoint v3 install (virtual machine 2). I'm getting so flustered with all the authentication problems with v3 that I'm ready to give up again for the 100th time.

What error do you get?

I think the Explorer View requires certain components on the client (perhaps Office 2003 + ). Despite searching the MS site I can't find the page that describes the requirements, but I'm sure it exists somewhere...

But there are also a couple of KB articles that refer to very specific errors:

I have tried the "Basic Authentication" and also the "Integrated". Both will give me a offline error in that webpart. I don't think it requires office 2003 since a colleague got it to work without office 2003. He used a single domain admin account as opposed to the multiple service accounts that I had created. I have given each account domain admin rights but still I am unable to authenticate. I'm about to reinstall everything using a single domain admin account instead.
