I had installed Norton Anti-Virus 2000 on my Win2K AS. This anti-virus has an auto-protect feature that scans files that you are using or loading in real time. Norton gave me an alert telling me that Explorer.exe is a Trojan and will be quarentened (spelling?). Anyways, I rebooted the PC just to make sure nothing is wrong... now after I log in I get nothing. Since this problem, I have re-installed the OS. I'm just wondering if anybody else had a similar problem with Norton or any Anti-Virus... and what did you do? I'm scared to install Norton again.

Sounds to me like it was already infected before you installed Norton. Norton tries to clean the file, and if it cannot - you can set uptions for what to do next..

For instance, in the real-time configuration options..if a virus is found it will perform these actions: 1) clean virus, 2) quarantine...or 1) clean 2)leave file alone (log only).

That would have protected your system, and allowed you to restore your file safely.

Yes I'm having a similiar problem. Everytime I click on my explorer, recycle bin, or My Computer, it gives me an error saying "explorer.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows.
How do I fix this?
