I'm working in Win98, and recently got this IPF error. I am completely unable to rename or delete any folder anywhere on my hard drive. According to Dr. Watson:
"<unknown> performed an invalid memory access.
Module Name: <unknown>
Application Name: Explorer.exe
Description: Windows Explorer
Version: 4.72.3110.1
Product: Microsoft(R) Windows NT(R) Operating System
Manufacturer: Microsoft Corporation"
The one thing that stands out is that I noticed this error immediately after installing a new scanner (CanoScan N650U), and after a complete reinstall of Win98, this scanner was one of my first installs, and I have the problem again.
Also, right before I reinstalled Win98, this error disappeared, and I was able to edit folders at will. I had uninstalled a great deal of sofware in the meantime, but the problem didn't immediately clear up after any of them - even after reboot.
Thanks,
Mike
