Recently, I have been unable to access files written to CD-R media. I'm certain the files are there as my virus software clearly shows them when scanning for viruses. Yet, I'm unable to access them under windows or the command prompt. What could possibly cause this behaviour?
Ps I'm running Sonic DLA software, and Nero In-CD packet writing; I wonder if maybe the two products are the source of the problem?

If you have had roxio easy cd , direct cd installed before.
The file C:\winnt\system32\udfreadr.sys is still there.
It seems that the udfreadr.sys doesn't affect the CD-RW until after InCD formats it and is used when trying to read the cd.
Try to rename the file udfreadr.sys to udfreadr.sy_
(don't delete it)and reboot , make a new test .

Thank you, I'll check it out. However, the viewing of CDR files seems to be working now after reinstalling Sonic DLA from the HP Recordnow xp version update CD. Also, I unistalled Ahead InCD as well and now I need to find an application that's compatible with both a HP CDR and Panasonic DVDR. What a mess. Thanks again SYAR2003. PS I had an older version by now defunct Adaptec.
