I have 2 computers both Windows 2000 O/S. They both have identical internet settings as far as I can see. When I visit some sites one computer comes up with an error message when I try to use the BACK button:

Warning: Page has Expired The page you requested was created using information you submitted in a form. This page is no longer available. As a security precaution, Internet Explorer does not automatically resubmit your information for you.

To resubmit your information and view this Web page, click the Refresh button.

I have tried turning the firewall off but it makes no difference. Am I missing something?

We have custom web applications in-house that do the same thing. This usually happens when running web applications that also require authentication. Most of these will have a "back" link inside the application itself.

We had to remind our users over and over again to NOT use the browser's BACK button. They finally get it now.

Good luck,

Hi lhuegele

I think I understand what you are saying but surely both computers should be doing the same thing when I press the BACK button but they do not. The site I am referring to is a free site that gives information about family tree relations. If they had what you mentioned then both computers would have the same trouble. The BACK button has to be used so as to return to the first page. I still feel I am missing something.

Sounds like it could be a setting in IE then. You'll need to check the advanced settings on both machines to find out where the differences are.

Another thing to check is that they are both running the same version.

Good luck,
