Just making sure all is normal here. i never realized that the explore application had capital file extension. In my task manager it states: "explorer.EXE". is this normal (Win2k Pro sp3) /? ...or is this some freakin trojan that over wrote the original file?

Thanks for all your help

Well i've never seen that but it might be nothing to worry about. Search your system for Explorer.exe. How many do you find and where are they? You should only find one. If you find two then one of them is a trojan or virus.

You could run a virus scan:

Moosoft's Cleaner is a trojan specific scanner:

well actually i have 2. one in
c:\WINNT
and the other in
c:\WINNT\servicepackfiles\i386

what? that seems normal enough though?

your ensights please....make me feel better tell me someone has a caps .EXE in their task manager for explorer

I do on NT4. In fact a lot of entries in task manager are in caps. You're nothing to do with audiopimp.com I suppose? Peter Meachem
