Exploding a patch .exe file

Installing Netware 6 for the first time and completely new to this OS. Trying to load SP2 from the local server but all the instructions tell you to "explode" the file but do not indicate how to do so. Is there a specific module or app I should be using to do this? The system is standalone so exploding the file from a client machine is not an option at this point. If anyone has a step by step on this process I would appreciate it.

From your windows workstation, browse to the exe you would have probably downloaded from Novell's support site, and just double click on it. It should automatically extract or explode, and create the necessary directory structure it needs. There should then be a text file that will have the installation instructions on applying the patch.

I've tried that on my Win2K workstation but the file doesn't appear to extract anything. Is it creating it's own directory somewhere on the system?

I've occasionally had problems with the patch looking like it doesn't do anything. Copy the file to a folder on your c: drive, then try going into a command prompt, and run it from the dos window. You should at least see it work that way.

Ran accross a doc stating the .exe file had to be run from the root of the drive it was being run on. I tried it and was able to extract the files. Install went fine once I copied the files and ran it from CD. Thank you very much for all your help.
