I have 10 or so users, most on NT, 3 Win95 and an NT server. I have not used explicit locks, but rather hoped that the internal Paradox lock system would not fail regularly and create most forms with all editing disabled (from the data model). Only a few forms that are editable and there happen to be only a few people that regularly edit records. This seems to be working well enough. There are no problems. I have a sense that this is not really the correct approach however and wonder where I can get more advice on where to place code for explicit locking and in general how to proceed. We are thinking of moving up to something like an Oracle database, continue using Paradox as a front end. I assume there is no way to continue in that kind of environment without the explicit locking. Any information, , sample code, research avenues would be appreciated.
