I'm trying to track an outgoing message in Exchange 2003, and after all the queuing, it says "Message transferred to esmtp through SMTP" . The intended recipient of the email did not receive it......?

Can someone please explain?

Thanks!

Esmtp is an enhanced version of the SMTP protocol.

It is a lot more feature rich.

To use esmtp both servers must be able to comunicate with it.

It starts with a ehlo if the server doesn't get a response it will send a helo instead and then send it via SMTP if it gets a response it will continue the transfer by esmtp. (If memory servers!)

OK, a bit over my head.....so what does it mean in terms of the email being delivered, or at least leaving our Exchange Server.....?

Thanks-
