expiry date

Do apologise quite new to this, I am trying to pull some data from cognos based on for examples, accounts who are still active even after expiry date.

I Have tried to do expiry date <= today() and this will not work, can someone help me

I think we'll need more detail than that. Is it not filtering properly, or are you getting an error message?
If Expiry Date is a Date-Time field, you should be using the Now() function instead of Today().
